Cute small coffee machine
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
After deciding I can no longer afford expensive energy drinks, I place away my coffee snobbery, and went out and grabbed one of these babies. I needed a convenient caffeine delivery source, and so far this has delivered.
I got the black one. It’s small, and lives in the corner of my space-impaired apartment kitchen. It’s perfect considering I’m the only coffee drinker in the house. If I have a friend over, I can brew up a four-cup pot, which will fill 2 mugs. (NOTE: 1 “cup” on this = 6 oz).
Everything works like it should work. It’s simple to program, hasn’t leaked, the coffee is standard American fare- place a bit ‘o honey and some soy creamer in it and everything’s excellent in the hood. Plus it’s $[...] bucks!

Coffee tastes like plastic and clock doesn’t work
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I’ve had this coffee maker for several years but rarely use it. As others have noted, the clock doesn’t work, but the most vital thing you should know is that it makes your coffee taste like plastic, even after years! Yuck! N.B. I did not buy this coffee maker from Amazon. If I had, I’m sure Amazon would have been fantastic about a return. I just wanted to caution any potential buyers of the product.

Mr. Coffee 4 Cups
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I really delight in this coffee maker. It’s the perfect size for me. It makes 4 cups of 5 oz cups of coffee, so if you’re like most people this really only makes about 2 nice sized cups of coffee, which is fantastic for me, because I despise to have ancient coffee or to waste it. This is a fantastic size for an office, apartment, college dorm, or if you don’t drink very much coffee. It brews perfectly each time I use it; but, I have not used the programming feature yet since brewing only takes about 2 minutes.

Fantastic value, just don’t consider it a household investment!
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Prior to buying my personal coffee maker I went through the reviews. I read how pleased everybody was with the coffee, its small convenient size for just one coffee drinker, and especially the price. A few reviews talked about how theirs broke after a few months. I give 5 for value, 5 for convenience, 5 for speed (given the price), 5 for size, but a 2 for reliability! Average of 4 stars.
I’ve thoroughly loved (notice past tense) my coffee maker up until today. For $20 and free shipping to my door under Amazon Prime, you can’t go incorrect. It makes fantastic coffee, but this product certainly carries a caveat: reliability. The last two weeks the quality of my coffee quickly declined and today I realized why when it suddenly stopped working. I bought it around August and had expected to at least get a year out of it (5 months will have to suffice). I’ve used it on average 3-4 times a week (some mornings you crave Starbucks).
In regards to the warranty, Mr. Coffee’s website instructed me to go to a repair shop 70 blocks. Time, hassle, $3/gallon gas and potential repair cost for a twenty buck product? No thanks. I bought it cheap online for a reason. Given the price, I may opt to just try another brand or order a new one (household choice to be made this weekend). Call it spoiled, but I don’t have the time to fix this guy.
At $20 you cannot go incorrect! If it fails though, don’t despise Mr. Coffee because you were warned. I certainly read the reviews warning its reliability and bought it regardless (again: value).
Tip: If you buy it, keep the box folded up in your closet with the warranty.

I liked the cofee makers efficiency. I did not like the temperature of the water. Not hot enough.

Coffee Basket Flops Around
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
Alot of times this coffee maker works fine, but it’s by chance. The directions say place the coffee basket in securely before brewing the coffee. And IT DOES fit in securely as long as there isnt a coffee pot in place. As soon as the coffee pot is set under the basket it wobbles around and it “lifts” up some from the spot it should be in. Sometimes thats fine, then sometimes you go to get coffee and you find all the coffee grounds all over the coffee pot and counterspace. A huge mess on occasion. I’ve had Mr Coffee’s before and never seen this problems, so maybe I just got a lemon.

coffee for one, maybe two
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This small coffeemaker is perfect for me, since I live alone and drink only 2 cups of coffee in the morning. It makes just the right amount, so I don’t have to waste coffee by making too much in the large size pots. Coffee is ready quickly and easily. Brews a fantastic cup of coffee or two. Does not take up much space either.

Best College Pot
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this coffee pot from some local store when I first came down to my new city of Columbia for school. As my first coffee pot I didn’t really know what to expect so I place my grounds in, plugged it in and loved a first tasty cup. It is small, it fits well on a desk and despite what many will tell you makes the best cup of coffee not just for the value, but among many other more expensive options as well. I didn’t realize this until someone broke my carafe and I had to borrow another coffee maker for a while. Don’t be fooled by the price tag, price does not dictate quality. Either way if you want a fantastic cup of coffee for a nice price, need the space, and like me reckon that 4 cup coffee makers are quaint then look no further.

Dribble Pot
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
The coffee maker itself works fine. Brews pretty quick. BUT!!!! The damn “decanter”, pot, whatever… DRIBBLES every time you pour!!! When i fill the back with the decanter- it dribbles water all over the counter. When i pour out the first 2 cups of coffee- it dribbles coffee all over the counter. It’s doubled my paper towel consumption!!! Tried everything- lifting the lid to pour, pouring slowly, pouring quickly etc. Haven’t tried running it over with the car yet.

Fantastic small coffeemaker: excellent value for the price
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I really bought this at a local Target store, but bought it based on the Amazon customer reviews. I only make coffee once a day, enough to fill my commuter cup (~2.5 cups worth according to the markings on the carafe). It brews quickly, and the coffee is a lot hotter than what came out of my prior coffeemaker (a Black and Decker 4 cup maker). My commuter cup is stainless steel and I learned that I do NOT need to pre-heat it with hot water like I used to do; the freshly brewed coffee from this model stays excellent and hot in my commuter cup for at least an hour. I’m impressed that there are so many features for the price, i.e, clock, delay brew, pause ‘n pour.
Yes, there is one small quirk: the filter basket doesn’t seat firmly if the lid is up (due to the spring mechanism that allows the pause ‘n pour function)so you do have to take the carafe off of the plate at the very beginning of preparation and place it back at the very last (once the lid is closed and before pressing “START”), but that’s such a minor thing, it’s not even an issue with me (I just wanted to let you all know). Overall, I really like this coffeemaker and am very pleased with it.

It’s Ok
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I don’t like this Mr Coffee as much as my last one. It causes alot of fluid spill. The pot spout is narrow, so when pouring coffee into our cups it overflows the spout onto the countertop no matter how slow you pour it. There are two holes in the back of the coffee maker designed, I guess, so you don’t overfill the water resevoir. When I’m pushing the coffeemaker back into place on our countertop after filling it, the water swishes and spills out of the holes. Then, when you lift the lid and pull out the coffee basket, condensed water spills onto the hot plate, another area you have to wipe up. I’ll deal with it because I don’t want to pay the ridiculous prices for another time delay coffee pot but it’s a pain in the neck to keep having to wipe up spills

Mr Coffee DRX5 4-cup Coffeemaker

sub standard
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
Bought to replace an 8 cup which worked for years, reliably. (Make Black & Decker)
1. Very hard to poor water into tank without spilling.
2. Silly design of carafe with attached lid makes it hard to pour w/o the cap falling lose and spilling
3. Pause feature – when you remove the carafe, worked only 2 days. Then stopped. Now we wait for entire pot to end, if not coffee spills everywhere.

The perfect balance of form and function
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I like this coffee pot for several reasons; one, it is programmable, which means I can set it the night before and wake up to hot coffee; two, it is symmetrical, which means it does not favor right-handed people – the top flips back, so you can fill from both sides, and it has a water level window on both sides; and three, it has a cutoff switch so if the carafe is not in place exactly, you don’t end up with coffee all over the counter top – I nearly found this out the hard way – but the coffee sat in the top of the unit til I dropped the carafe back into place. The digital readout is black LCD, not terribly bright, and unreadable in the dark ( I had one that was green glowing, which I thought was better ) but if the power does go out (briefly), it doesn’t lose time, which is a excellent feature for me. Simple, and effective.

Small thing is hugely fantastic!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This tiny small coffee maker has fantastic features for a tiny price. It is very small and doesn’t take up a lot of space. Very simple to clean. Makes fantastic coffee. I like that you can set the timer and have the coffee made for you when you wake up. I also like that it has an automatic shut off, so no worring if you remembered to turn the thing off or not. Fantastic maker for the price!

Fantastic small coffeemaker
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’ve had this coffeemaker for about four weeks now and so far, it works very well. The size is just right (I don’t have a huge kitchen) and it brews the coffee quickly and the right amount for about two people. Like it so no complaints…yet.

Works well for our 1 drinker household
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
One coffee drinker in our household; someone who doesn’t like to wake up, start the coffee, then start the day. Said person would rather have coffee ready to go in the morning without any extra effort. For under 20 bucks, this coffee maker does that like a dream. Set it the night before, wake up to tasty coffee smells throughout the house! Yes, it loses time a small bit every week, but for the price, I didn’t expect too much. Resetting it is part of the coffee ritual.
For the price, I can’t find a better small coffee maker. The programmable timer works fantastic, it can brew a small pot, and it gets plenty hot. Works!

SMALL COFFEE MAKER
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
THIS IS A FANTASTIC COFFEE MAKER IF YOU ONLY NEED 4 OR 5 CUPS OF COFFEE. YOU CAN ALSO SET IT TO AUTOMATICLY START IN THE AM. THE PAUSE FEATURE DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK, BUT I HAVE FOUND THAT THAT IS A PROBLEM WITH ANY OF THE PAUSE FEATURED COFFEE MAKERS. I LIKE IT AND USE IT DAILY.

Fantastic product!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My boyfriend and I live in an apt with a kitchen that has very small counter space. This tiny coffee maker is awesome for us. I use it to make hot water for tea and he uses it for coffee. It takes up virtually no space so I don’t mind it being on the counter all the time. I have had two of these so far. My boyfriend chipped the pot of the first one… When I looked into replacing the tiny pot (through the mr. coffee co directly) it turns out it costs only a couple bucks more to buy a whole new one (through amazon)! Rather than replace just the pot, I went ahead and ordered another- so here we are on #2 and I still don’t have a single complaint. I saw that some people complained about the clock running slow but I set all my clocks ahead a few minutes and have never noticed it fall behind. Honestly, you only get two cups outta a single brew with this machine, which is cool because I’d be worried about my bf’s health if he was drinking more than two cups in a sitting anyway. So if you live alone, have a small space or just like a couple of cups of joe in the am, then this is probably the coffee maker for you.

If you like fiber in your coffee…..
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
….then choose the Mr. Coffee DRX23. This 12-cup coffeemaker had all the features I was looking for. It’s programmable so I wake up to a fresh pot every morning, complete with grounds INSIDE the carafe. There isn’t a permanent filter option with this model so you are left with only the paper filters which flop down on one side about 97% of the time. They are the right size and shape for this machine to fit the flat-bottom basket so I can’t figure out what is causing the fold over. My husband also sets up the machine so it’s not limited to one user failure, it happens to him as well. I will be looking for another manufacturer’s machine as we prefer our fiber from other food sources.

Excellent Small Brewer
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I bought this coffee maker a few weeks ago to brew decaf just for myself. If I have to drink decaf (which is far inferior, to my taste buds), then at least it should be simple. This coffeemaker fills the bill. Here are the points I have observed:
Pros
-the brew tastes decent (for decaf)
-the brew time is honestly quick (less than 5 minutes for a full pot)
-the coffee is hot enough
-the clock does not have to be set in order for the machine to brew (which is fantastic, because I unplug it between uses)
-the heating element automatically shuts off after one hour
Cons
-the clock show is not lighted, so the numbers are very hard to read–this would make setting the programmed brew time annoying (I do not use this feature)
-to get a full 4-cup brewed pot, the water reservoir must be filled to the very top of the window (past the mark labeled “max”)*This is contrary to the manual.*
-because of the shape of the pour spout, it is hard to pour water into the reservoir without spilling (maybe that’s just me)
Other vital points:
-the filter basket (which holds the paper filter) only fits one way–the tab must be seated properly in the back
-the top/lid that covers the reservoir and filter basket should be snapped shut before beginning a brew cycle
-if you fill the reservoir above the “max” line (in order to brew a full 4 cups), cover the overflow hole (in the back) with your finger if you must go the coffeemaker into place on your counter top
