First unit broke after one use

The first unit that was delivered boiled water once which you need to do before you make coffee the first time. It never worked again. I contacted the supplier ‘MaxTool’ and was told that I was responsible for the return postage. I like paying extra for getting a defective product. I will never buy anything thing that is provided by MaxTool in the future.
The second unit works fine, nothing spectacular and makes a excellent cup of coffee.

I don’t know why this coffee maker gets such high marks from other reviewers. First of all, the heating element is not very effective, so that first cup of coffee is neither hot nor strong. Also, the machine is nearly 100% plastic, making the unit feel cheap and flimsy. The filter holder is hard to open and cannot be slid in place if the carafe is on the warming plate already. These flaws earn 1 star in my book.

I bought this small charmer for work based upon the reviews of it here on Amazon.com. We used it daily, at work, distress free. When someone else bought in a 12 cup coffee maker, I gave this to my girlfriend for her home. After all, I had a Hamilton Beach 4 cup coffee maker at my place. BAAAAD mistake!!! I gave her this coffee maker on a Monday. The Hamilton Beach Aroma Elite CRAPPED OUT Friday morning. I regret giving this away. I might just question for a refund on that other brand & get me another one of these. Ancient reliable indeed. In the meantime, I need some coffee! Terribly!!!

Terrific Value For A Couple Mugs Of Java

This was the perfect solution for myself in many respects. The cost was very reasonable, the size is small and takes up very small counterspace in height and width, it’s very simple to operate, very simple to clean, you can see the current water level in the tank, it comes with a filter but, a paper filter allows less ground sediments, it’s simple to pour, it makes two mugs of coffee (as opposed to 4 very small cups) which is all I need. Came with a measuring spoon. The only complaint I read about was that water temp could be higher. For me, I usually have to place ice in coffee to cool..this is hot but sippable…perfect in my book. No more blistered roof of mouth! Doesn’t compromising flavor. Burner has auto shutoff as I recall. Saves money by avoiding expense of wasted java. Killer product as far as I’m concerned…had excellent retailer as well…1 shop stop.
Fantastic small brewer for the price

Just had my first cup this morning and man was it excellent. I was a bit concerned about brewing temperature since when I did a purge with distilled water (which you should probably do 2 or 3 times before making coffee) my thermometer indicated only 180 degrees. Optimum brewing temperature is 195 – 205. Never-the-less, the coffee (Cafe Verona by Starbucks) tasted as excellent as you can get as take out there. It is honestly simple to use and cleanup takes about 3 minutes and you are ready to go again. The coffee was hot enough for me. Some reviewers complain about the coffee temperature being too luke warm. This may well be a valid concern for those who really like very hot coffee. It was hot enough so that I had to sip it for a while. I use Bodium double walled mugs so it doesn’t cool down before I end it.
As other reviewers have stated, it brews about 20ozs of coffee. For me that is two 10oz mugs, which is all the coffee I care to drink in the morning. You can also use the carafe to fill an 8oz mug and place the rest in a 12 oz travel mug and take it to work. In either case this is excellent for people who only drink a limited amount of coffee. There is nothing to throw away except the grinds.
I just got some 100% Kona yesterday and am looking forward to tomorrow.
I recommend this brewer.
Works well, small, one flaw

This is a nice small coffee maker. It’s perfect for an office or anyplace small. My only complaint, like other reviewers, is it just doesn’t keep the coffee very warm, and if you add even a small amount of cold milk or cream, like I do, then you end up with even cooler coffee. The first cup out after brewing seems to be hotter than the second cup after it’s been sitting on the hotplate for a while. I would recommend this coffee maker with this one caveat on temperature.

This machine makes very excellent coffee,like that it has a permanent filter, and you can use a bit less coffee and still get a rich result. I also like that it doesn’t take up much room on the counter. My only complaint is that the filter basket does not stay locked in place. The small tab that catches to hold it in place doesn’t fit tightly enough. This doesn’t really affect the function – just annoying. Maybe I got one that was slightly defective.

To settle the “4 cups” debate – this coffeemaker brews 20 ounces max, which divides out to 5 ounce “cups” of coffee. I’m guessing by this that coffeemakers got left out of the “super size” American evolution. But to place it in perspective, 20 ounces is comparable to what you would get in ONE commercial coffeehouse coffee (if they fill it up to the very top of the paper cup – ever notice that?). Anyhoo, this coffeemaker is perfect for someone like me who likes to fill up a travel mug in the morning and leave for work.
Makes excellent coffee, filter holder moves around

The Elite Cuisine 4-Cup Pause-’n-Serve Coffeemaker makes very excellent coffee – comparable to our Cuisinart coffee maker, which is quite excellent.
The filter holder doesn’t seem to stay place after you place coffee in it and swing it closed; the top of the coffee pot seems to snag on it – need to hold the filter holder shut while removing the pot.
Otherwise a nice product; quite small, but huge enough to make two cups (all coffee makers have too small a cup serving).
I’d buy it again.

This item is fantastic for people who reside in apartments or who are not heavy coffee drinkers. I find that I use less coffee so when there is a sale, I am able to stock up.

I was disappointed with this coffeemaker. The coffee is luke warm and the 4 cups is more like 2. I would not recommend buying this coffee maker.

This is a fantastic coffee maker at a fantastic price. The coffee comes out hotter than my huge coffee maker. The washable reusable filter is fantastic, but you can use those desposable filters too. A couple of things to note: 1: you can’t open the filter tray with the coffee pot in it’s place, it has to be taken out 2: the filter tray is a small hard to open..you have to hold onto the machine and open it otherwise you might tip the entire thing over since it’s small and light.

I WAS SUPRISED HOW EXCELLENT A COFFEE MAKER IT REALLY IS. COFFEE IS HOT AND VERY EXCELLENT. IT BREWS QUICKER AND MAKES BETTER COFFEE THAN THE HUGE, MORE EXPENSIVE COFFEE MAKER I HAVE AT WORK. THE ONLY NEGATIVE COMMENT I HAVE IS THE CLUMSY CONE HANDLE YOU HAVE TO PULL TO OPEN THE CONE SHAPPED COFFEE HOLDER. OTHERWISE EVERYTHING IS VERY EXCELLENT. ESPECIALLY THE FACT THAT THE ELITE CUISINE EHC2022 CAN MAKE COFFEE WITHOUT PAPER FILTERS. IN SUM IF YOU WANT AN INEXPENSIVE, NO FRILLS EXCELLENT COFFEE MAKER THEN THE ELITE CUISINE EHC2022 4 CUP COFFEE MAKER IS FOR YOU.
The Thinking Person’s Coffee Maker

The descriptions available online for this product are not complete. Not only is the filter basket removable, washable, and operates as a paper-less filter system, but the part that encases the filter, is both removable and washable. Whoever made this coffee maker is brilliant. Though, like most brilliant people, they assumed that everyone thinks the way they do. A drawback to this product is that you cannot open or close the filter basket when the coffee pot is in place on the element. You just have to remember the pot is the last to go into place and the first to come off. This unit makes fantastic coffee. The parts go in the dishwasher. It looks fantastic on the kitchen counter… the design is exceptional. I am delighted with my buy.
